Camille Herron
Camille Herron is an ultrarunner, scientist, coach, ambassador, public speaker, & model. She is known for running with her hair down, a big smile, and eating tacos to fuel ultramarathons. In 2024 at age 42, she was late diagnosed as Autistic/ADHD.
She is widely regarded as one of the greatest ultrarunners of all-time.
She is an advocate & philanthropist for women's health, equality, diversity and inclusion, anti-doping, perimenopause, mental health & increasing women's sports science studies.
She formerly worked as a research specialist in bone imaging. She earned her B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science at The University of Tulsa in 2005 (honored as a Top 10 Senior) and her M.S. in Exercise and Sport Science at Oregon State University in 2007. Camille is a native Oklahoman (graduated from Westmoore High School in 2000 as a Valedictorian), now based in Tucson, AZ with her husband/coach, Conor Holt.

She has an MFA in creative writing and is a 4-time New York Times bestselling writer, including the #1 New York Times bestseller Designing Your Life by Dave Evans and Bill Burnett, and 2018 Oprah Book Club pick, The Sun Does Shine, which she co-authored with Anthony Ray Hinton about his 30 years as an innocent man on Alabama’s death row.
In 2019 she won a Christopher Award for her work “affirming the highest values of the human spirit”.
